Sha Feng's Award-Winning Poster Series: A Fusion of Philosophy and Art

Exploring the Unique Blend of Tai Chi Philosophy and Modern Design in Public Posters

The series, named 'Origin-Tree+You,Water+You,Earth+You,' draws its inspiration from Tai Chi, an ancient Chinese philosophical concept. Tai Chi represents the origin of all things, with its yin and yang symbolizing the opposite and complementary aspects of life. Sha Feng has vividly expressed this philosophy through his posters, using prototypes of fish and water, birds and wood, and tigers and soil to showcase the fundamental truths of the world.

What sets this poster series apart is its unique blend of philosophy and art. The posters were created for the Galeria: Icograda's international design exhibit, a prestigious platform for showcasing innovative designs. Sha Feng's designs stand out for their ability to convey deep philosophical concepts through simple, visually appealing images.

The posters were realized through digital printing or printing offset, demonstrating Sha Feng's adeptness at using modern technology to bring his creative visions to life. Each poster measures 70cm*100cm, making them large enough to grab attention and convey their message effectively.

The design process for this series began in February 2012 in Perugia and was completed in March 2012. The posters were then exhibited at the Galeria: Icograda's international design exhibit and later at the 2013 Adobe Design Achievement Awards in the USA and The 8th Chinese Element International Creative Award in China.

Despite the challenges of expressing complex philosophical concepts through visual design, Sha Feng successfully overcame these hurdles. His designs not only reflect the essence of Tai Chi but also resonate with viewers, making them a powerful tool for public communication.

Sha Feng's poster series has been recognized for its excellence in design, winning the Golden A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award in 2014. This prestigious award is given to outstanding creations that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
